Tech Week (Or OH MY GOD THE SHOW IS COMING)

Hey guys! It's Riles, and I have BIG news. I finally have a break to write this, because the Fourth Of July is coming! YAY! It's time for hot-dogs and root beer floats! That's a nice break from Tech Week, which is TECH-nically (HA HA) Tech Fort-Night, since it is two weeks... I think I'm dying inside. Not like, emotionally, but physically. See, I'm in this theater camp, and usually, we have classes, like character creating and improv, and rehearsal in the afternoon. BUT, the last two weeks of camp, we have rehearsal ALL FREAKING DAY. IT IS EXHAUSTING. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the camp to PIECES, but this can be a little intense. It is all day. And also, tech week is when the directors get REAL pissed. Like, I'm talking if you flub a line, you get a lecture. Because the show is in like, a week. And they're worried. I mean, it's perfectly normal to be worried about something you love. But it is so tiring. Well, at least I have the day off tomorrow! YAY!

By the way. I GOT A GOOGLE+ PAGE! I'm called Riles Smiles, and my profile picture is a stuffed dumbo! So follow me! ALSO, I made a SPECIAL email just for this blog. It is therilespost@gmail.com. So you can email me without me getting stalked! (You never know WHOS on the internet!) I don't think any of you are stalkers, but..... you know...... THAT IS IS KK BYE

XOXO

The Gabby Story...

Hey guys. Here's the story of Gabby and her moving. For her own perspective, click here. Anyway, it all began one day near the end of the school year...

We were in gym class, playing badminton, well, sitting down to play it, and I was talking to Gabby and Jenna about next year's Chamber Concert, which is basically at our school we have that instead of a talent show except it's all singing. I said maybe we could do the opening song from Tangled. Then Gabby said could we not talk about next year please. Then we had to sit down, and Gabby and Jenna were whispering to each other. When Gabby came to her spot, I asked what was up. She said later, at lunch. That was a Wednesday. On Wednesdays, we would always go up to our teacher Mrs. Mazur's room and help her organize stuff. So I waited. At lunch, I asked again, what's up? She told me. Her dad applied for a job. That wasn't too bad, but the job is in California. That's pretty much across the country.

Suddenly, time was going in slow motion. I am NOT kidding. I could hear crying, and realized it was coming from me. Well, not JUST me. We were all just crying. I went to the library after school. I immediately went to American Girl. I always sneered at all of the "If your friend is moving" stuff, but now I was reading all that I could. I needed reality. Well, not really. I needed to remember that I wasn't the only person this had happened to. That night, I went home and cried.

The weeks went on. I wished and wished that her dad wouldn't get the job. I mean, it would be great if he got the job, good for him, but it's in CALIFORNIA. I'm trying not to be bitter at California, because it's not California's fault that Gabby's moving there. Her dad got the job. Now we had to wait to see if he would get the pay he wanted. If he didn't get the payment he wanted, no California. If he did, bye bye Gabby. I remember we went outside to work on Social Studies one day, and there were so many dandelions, and I swear, Gabby and I must have blown out about 20 each, and EVERY SINGLE ONE we wished the same thing. Please don't let Gabby move. Please please please.

No luck. She told us a week or tow before school ended. They were still deciding on a moving day, but it was happening. Sometime over the summer. That night, I went home and cried. We spent the next 2 weeks saying good-bye and good-bye again. The last day of school, once we were done with school, Jenna, Gabby and I were just crying.

Move forward into a few weeks into the summer. I got a rogue Google+ message (NOT OLD ENOUGH FOR FB) from Abby. Not Gabby. Well, not actually not a MESSAGE. An INVITATION. To Gabby's surprise going away party. It was the next Friday. Well, until Abby learned that was Gabby's brother's birthday, so it was postponed until the NEXT next Friday. The day arrived. It was my last guitar lesson too. I had to rush to Abby's house. It was my first surprise party. 12 years on this here Earth, and I don't go to ONE surprise party. Well, until now. It was pretty fun. Everyone got Gabby something, except for me. I already gave her my present. It was this....

Yeah.... she got a plant, lots of cards, candy for the road (it takes about 2 days to get there) and tabloids. You know, People and stuff, and also those "teen" magazines. Like Girl's Life, and Teen Vogue. It was fun, We had soda, popcorn, M&Ms, Gummy Bears, and watched the babysitting adventure. It was really late when I got home, and I started crying. Gabby also said that her mom and dad said they're moving July 17.

Another week went by, and randomly, out of the blue, I was listening to some Taylor Swift and Stay Stay Stay came on, and I remembered that Gabby sang that song at the chamber concert this year, and then I switched it to another song, but I remembered that Gabby introduced me to Taylor Swift, and then I hugged Cheeto, my own Squishable, but I remembered that I got Gabby a Squishable. So I hugged my stuffed manga cat, Mouschi, but I remembered that GABBY named Mouschi! And I just started crying. And then that's it so far. I'll do more updates soon. Stay tuned. :(
